Now that you have chosen to walk with Jesus and are saved, what next? Our ministry desperately wants each of you to continue your walk in salvation and build your relationship with Christ Jesus. We understand that in a lot of cases a person gets saved and then wonders “Now what?” Often people can backslide if they don’t have the right leadership and guidance. This is something we don’t want to see happen. Our heavenly spirit fights against our flesh every single day, so we have to work hard to fight the pulls of our flesh. Once you ask Jesus in your life, that is when sanctification begins. Repenting is the act of turning from the things that were causing you to sin. The Holy Spirit will work in you to help you remove those things/people/past trauma in your life that could be causing you to sin. You also have to do your part and build your knowledge of His word in order to fight against the devil. With this knowledge and the help of the Holy Spirit you will gain wisdom and discernment.
Here are some of the first steps to take:
- Open up your bible and start reading. Read scripture every single day. Pray and see where the Holy Spirit leads you to read. My personal favorite is the book of Psalms. (If you do not have a bible, please contact us)
- Pray, Pray, Pray!! Find time where you can be in a quiet place and spend time with Him in prayer. Talk to Jesus, have conversations with Him.
- Find a local church where you can connect with like-minded, Christian people, and where you feel like you can get support. Look for churches that welcome the Holy Spirit in and allow Him to flow in their services. It’s ok to visit churches until you find one you feel comfortable at. Just remember you are there to grow, so it might feel a little uncomfortable at first.
- Start listening or watching biblical teachers. We post those we recommend on our referrals page. If you need further reference, please contact us.
